Humanitarian And World Vision Center Cameroon (HAWO – CAM) is a Christian Organization that was founded in September 1999 to create hope and confidence to others. Our desire is to assist orphans, vulnerable children and helpless Communities realize their potentials and to be self–reliant. We can’t help orphans without being involved in their Education, Self-Help Training, Sanitation, Health, Feeding and Shelter.

To consolidate our objectives, we implement sponsorship programs, social projects like Schools and Health Center constructions, pipe borne water and Vocational Training workshops to benefit orphans and their Communities.

As need may be, we construct small nice Village houses for poor volunteers desiring to take care of orphans. A society of many widows and HIV/AIDS related diseases results to hundreds of helpless children. We cannot close our eyes to see orphans out of schools, abandoned, poorly fed, no medical care and shelter. “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this; to visit orphans and widows in their trouble and to keep oneself unspotted from the world” James 1: 27.

HAWO-CAM intends to create hope and confidence to others by assisting helpless orphans and their Communities realize their potentials and to be self-reliant. Our desire is to promote and implement programs and projects that defend the cause of orphans.

Coordination Team:   “And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father by him” Col.3:17. The organisation has only one office and does not have a running budget. Our Coordination Staff are purely Volunteers living through other economic activities.

HAWO-CAM was started in September 1999 by Kuiyen Afoni who lost his father at the tender age of 12. At the dead of his father, family relations took away four houses, all plots and 10 coffee and forest farms. The widow was forced to go to their compound with more than eight children with relatively no income. The witchcraft related issues were many in “Sodom and Gommorah” where my parents saw general hatred because of their prosperity.

Afoni as an orphan child started fetching for his own in College, climbing the ladder of exploitations, hills of homelessness and frustration, mountains of financial difficulties in Colleges and University. No proper market orientation program caused a lot of movement across the Country with an unanswered question from employers “What can you do”? He started following the crowd into aimless political struggles in the Country. Climbing of ladders, hills and mountains gradually gave him a burden to assist and sponsor orphans in Schools and Vocational Trainings. In ten years, hundreds of orphans have been impacted through the organization, Social projects implemented and many families are now integrating these helpless ones into their homes.

Pastor Afoni

God gave him the grace to receive Jesus as his Lord and personal Savior from sin in June 1998 in Limbe, South West Region of Cameroon where HAWO- CAM was founded. From 2005 - 2010, he enrolled in Christ Bible School Cameroon and Grace Brethren Theological Seminary Cameroon. Ordained into Ministry January 2012, he was married to Afoni Caroline, and blessed with four children. He is currently pastoring the Grace Brethren Ministry in Kumbo Cameroon and coordinating HAWO-CAM activities in the region with a network of Volunteers and Churches in the Name of Jesus Christ.
