Wainamah is a village in Jakiri Sub-Division. The village has a population of about 6,000 inhabitants. It used to have a Consultation room and a Drug store, one small Admissions room for men, women, children and a delivery room. The three room structure could not meet the need of the growing population. More than 200 orphans had a lot of medical problems in the area. HAWO-CAM solicited funds to the tone of 5 million FCFA from the American Ambassador Self-help Program to construct a nine room modern Health Centre. The Construction work was effectively executed and today, for the purpose of better administration, it is managed by Shisong General Hospital.

HAWO-CAM realized that many orphans and carers in the community needed Dresses and Shoes; and other orphan projects in the area needed stationeries, computers and office equipment. Through the assistance of Cross-Road International Hong-Kong, we received a Container Consignment to support all our orphans related activities.

Consignments of Seeds from Seeds To the World United States to support families volunteering to take care of orphans to grow their own food, because they could feed well if carers produce their own food.

Book Aid International through the British Council Cameroon and Books Aboard Scotland sent us books to assist our target population. These organizations have constantly sent us books to promote reading and writing in vocational training and prisons, so that the target population can suit the global village. Today, we are not graduating only potential self-reliant business orphans who can knit or sew dresses or produce modern furniture; rather those who can equally communicate well to be able to integrate their activities.

The Government of Cameroon through the Ministry of Social Affairs has been promoting and encouraging organizations that work with orphans and vulnerable children. Orphans are everywhere in the country, due to high levels of mortality caused by HIV/AIDS. The Divisional Delegation of Social Affairs in Kumbo has constantly given us moral, financial and material support towards our course.

Local groups have supported us in the Ministry in Prison with food items alongside Brethren in the United States of America. We have a weekly program with the inmates in Kumbo, whereby we counsel most of them who went to prison because of helplessness due to orphan circumstances. We assist them with food, Bibles and Christian literature. We need people of good will to assist them with clothing, food; and to carry out self-help trainings like shoe-mending and weaving, so that when they leave from there, they can generate income for themselves.

In the early stages, HAWOCAM realized the need to establish Nursery Schools in Rural Areas, where many orphans and Vulnerable Children could not go to school. This fact was the brain behind the establishment of the Mbah and Ntseni Nurseryr Schools. The Project has over the years made great impact, as many Graduations have been carried out. The Government of Cameroon through the Ministry of Basic Education has come to their assistance. Our role now is to continue sponsoring the orphans.
